Dr. Kahrs completed his pre-med classes at Washington State University and then headed to California to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic-West. He completed the four year curriculum in three years and returned to his hometown of Tacoma to begin practice. That was in 1986.

He is a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonal doctor and has a fellowship in Applied Spinal Biomechanical Engineering. He has studied extensively in the area of Sports Medicine. As an amateur bodybuilder he has been involved in nutrition and longevity.

Having three sisters and five daughters he is keenly aware of the health concerns that women face in their various stages of life. Osteoporosis is one of the areas he is passionate about and how to prevent it.

Dr. Kahrs and Dr. Simmons have been close friends for almost 40 years, as a patient and associate doctor. This helps the consistency of care for our patients. Along with Dr. Lyter and Dr. Velickoff, we present a solid team concept for our patients as we work to improve their health potential.

Dr. Simmons Asks some important questions of interest to Tacoma residents - Chiropractor Tacoma Dr. Simmons Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
